So, I’m finished with oil paint on my Finemolds Type 89. Now all it needs is some gentle chipping, some sand pigments, and it’s done. I imagine it as an old veteran, baked in the sun on the Philippines, waiting to defend against the American onslaught. Comments welcome. Thanks for looking.
In reviewing the photos, I see I have forgotten the license plate and tail light. I’ll fix that.

Excellent build!..really like the paint job/camo you have done and the weathering

Why the oil weathering before adding any chipping?

Oil paint would cover up any chipping I did beforehand.
Overall it looks very good. Just not a fan of the track tension.

Matt, fantastic looking Type 89! I think the track weathering really has the right look. Can’t wait to see the updates with additional sand weathering & chipping.

Very nice camo and the yellow stripe makes it visually interesting. The subdued dusty look is tops as well.
