Finished: 1:10 US machine gunner in Normandy

I just finished my 1:10 scale US machine gunner in Normandy bust.
The plinth is covered with sand from Omaha beach that I took home from a trip to Normandy last year.
I wanted to give him a tired look, hence the pale face, blood shot eyes and bags beneath the eyes.
I left off the ammo belt, as I was not able to get it on in a convincing way.
I hope you like it. Comments are welcome.

Looks good Erwin. :+1:

I would be tempted to add the division patch on the front of the plinth.

Thanks Ryan!
Good idea. I still have a couple of dioramas and busts that need a plaque made and attached. Need to find a good supplier overhere…

A fine looking bust Erwin- the Normandy sand is a particularly nice touch on the base. As @Tank_1812 said a patch on the front of the plinth would finish it well- I find you can sometimes get unit lapel pins which are a decent size for bust plinths.

I think you have captured the tired and weary look of the soldier very well.

Cheers Karl! I’ve looking for those, but I could only find nice ones in the US, and they cost $10,- without shipping. I also saw one in Spain but I don’t like how it looks. So it will have to wait…

Thank you so much Matt. I am very happy with the results. I spent half a day adding the tiny chain and plug to the water connection on the gun.
But it pays off…
