Finished: 75mm Dutch Grenadier of the 80 year's War

Some 2 years ago I bought this brandless white metal figure on a fair. This fair was in Brielle which was the first Dutch town to be liberated from the Spanish by the Dutch geuzen which sailed from the UK on the 1st of April 1572.
The name Geuzen stems from the French “less Gueux”. Not a charming name, as it means beggars. Yet the group of lesser nobles, being called so by one of the Spaniards in a degenerate manner, decided to adopt it as name of honor.
I decided to paint it as a Dutch soldier might have looked like the belligerents looked similar and could sometimes only be discerned by sashes), giving him a orange sash and painting the plumes in the colors of the Dutch flag (orange over white over blue at the time).
Wherever possible I tried to use the color of the metal, instead of painting it.
The base was enhanced by adding some mud paste, grass tufts and some birch seeds.
