Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum

I was talking to the Boeing Museum’s curator, and he is under the impression that it is probably going away. Some items are headed to Arkansas maybe but others will not.

They also have the only airworthy Ki 43 Oscar with original Nakajima power .

Nice Museum and it will a shame if it goes away. Few years back, a good friend took me along to visit Boeing Museum and while he gave his motivational talk I walked through the whole museum and that was amazing to see.

Very spiffy collection! :+1:

I asked the mechanic working on the engines if in high school he had any thoughts that he would ever be working on WW2 fighter planes for a living.

The ship models are 1/96th scale and were hand made by someone in Spokane WA

Il-2 “Sturmovich”. I think this is the only airworthy Sturmovich in the US. There’s one here in Tucson at the Pima Air & Space Museum, but it’s not airworthy.

The halftrack is an Sd.Kfz 9 “FAMO”. The largest Halftrack built by German, it’s powered by a 12-cylinder, 10.8-liter Maybach engine. Two of them were powerful enough to pull a Tiger tank.
