Footmans Loops with welds in 1/6 scale

Just wanted to let you guys know I finally finished up some new footmans loops. I had a reqest to do my 1/35 version in 1/6 and…yeah, they did not look so great. So I deep dove on how the footmans loops were actually attached to the vehicles, finding that while the loops were originally designed to be screwed in (open holes on the end feet) they were mainly welded onto vehicles. No real surprise. What was surprising is the number of variations on how they were welded. I did my best to look over photos from the WWII war period in-field (not museum pieces or refurbished post-war pieces) and attempt to assess the weld patterns. I came up with 2 “perfect” designs and 4 “sloppy” designs as I was not going to do every last version. I have these 1/6 versions up on ebay for sale, I will be putting up 1/16 versions and 1/35 versions. (I had our very own Dan check the 1.35 scale ones out - FYI).

Let me know what you think

For anyone considering these, Jacques stuff is spot on. I’ve used the 1/35 ones quite a bit.
