Found an M48A5!

In Wadena MN. I believe the markings are from the California NG.

Nice; Grey Desert MERDC camouflage.

Here’s some more CA NG Pattons during training at Ft. Irwin, Ca.

This looks like Camp Roberts, but could be Camp San Luis Obispo… tons of cows running around that place… both are in cattle country in the central part of the state

Digging the hole to bury it I suppose. To bloated for steaks, so sad.
I always liked the M48A5. Steering wheel and all.

Plain M60 had the wheel also.

Perhaps even Fort Hunter-Liggett.

Possibly… but I don’t recall ever coming across any cattle at Hunter-Liggett any of the times I was there. Lots of wildlife there, but no immediate nearby cattle areas. Plus not too much flat open area at FHL like in the photo. A lot more hilly at FHL.
