Front line unit rotation

Gen. Montgomery had promised the troops before the invasion that they would always be relieved from the front lines on a regular basis and he kept his word. The downside was traffic congestion and sometimes confusion as the units changed places. I am working on a large dio showing the 15th Scottish Infantry Div. doing just that during Operation Epsom in late June early July’44.

The latest guy just out of the paint shop last night. Hornet head(one of Rogers’ best IMHO) and a Bronco torso with arms. RoyalModel hands and Miniart legs from a French civilian set. Medic shell dressing bag from putty.

Not only “genius at work painting” but also medical precision in grafting parts together to get a perfect figure…..

Nicely subdued tones on this fella Jerry- suggestive of a well used and fairly grubby battle dress. The way he seems to sag a bit under the equipment matches that slightly glum expression!

Hey Johnny and Karl thanks for the very generous and well written comments! Sorry for the delay in answering. Life gets in the way.

Here are a few more chaps for this larger dio. I finished these right before the medic I posted above.

Gotta love those Hornet heads! I scratchbuilt the Piat ammo case.

Working on a stretcher bearer to go with the medic I just built a bit ago on here.

Tamiya guy from the “On Patrol” set. I found you must thin the leggings as they are way too beefy. The kit is all Dragon while the field dressing bag is putty and well as the stretcher. Hornet head When this all dries I will add more details.

Exquisite work mate. It’s always a joy to watch your figures come to life at the painting stage :+1:

Thank you sir.
