In Carl Schulze’s book, ‘The British Army of the Rhine’, there is a photo of an FV433 Abbot carrying what appear to be camo-net support poles (secured across the front of the hull). I imagine there would be something attached to the pole to keep the net in place. Perhaps someone has a photo showing such a pole.
Thanks,
Paul

Can you post a (single) pic from the book, allowable for discussion purposes.
I can’t say specifically about the Abbot, but there is this set for the FV432,
I have heard them called ski-poles, as the sets I’ve seen on re-enactors Scimitar/Scorpion CVRT’s had a disk on one end.
NB: if they are white/red striped, they will be ranging poles used for setting up accurate aiming, as the Abbott is Self Propelled Artillery.
The Spreaders can be disc, butterfly, spoked wheel, or mushroom dome, depending on issue, Pics & Ideas here.
