Looks like another nice kit. MiniArt do work their dies hard and make the most of them don’t they? I’m not quite sure what makes this an “artillery crew” as against any other kind, apart from the Waffenfarbe. The uniform and equipment would be identical in an infantry regiment. In fact, as they are wearing the simplified M43 jacket with plain pockets and gaiters, they could even be painted as SS if the shoulder straps were removed (optional, some wore them despite regulations) and like the Wehrmacht, Pak40s featured in both Panzerjager and infantry units in the SS. The only identifying feature of the uniform is the Wehrmacht style helmet covers, the SS type is substantially different, even in 1/35th scale.
It is my belief that the lack of regalia on the uniform is an indicator but I do not believe you should add the ammunition pouches as gun crews are supposed to work clean. That at least has always been my belief even if not always followed.
Depends on the battlefield and movement’s at the time as some gun crews lived in webbing due to the time after firing their guns and then having to redeploy to prevent counter battery fire. Different if your in a dug in defended gun line/ position, not having to wear webbing all the time…
Varanusk it is all sorted buddy the after market offering settled the argument. The barrel is short but quite a bit; I cannot guess how the error crept in as to long would have made more sense. I found it very hard to find a barrel for the model but it would seem that any aftermarket barrel is fine and it is the muzzle brake that decides the period of the weapon.
