German Soldiers at Field Briefing Tamiya 35212 1:35 scale

Today I’m showing you these miniatures from the Tamiya set German Soldiers at Field Briefing Tamiya 35212 (1:35 scale).

Here’s the link to the video I dedicated to them on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9joK_xQ_xo

Today I’m showing you these 1/35 scale Tamiya miniatures, which I bought about three years ago. After experimenting and improving my painting skills, I decided to “restore” them to make them even better, using Shepherd Paine’s teachings in his book “How to Build Dioramas.”

This set of miniatures is very beautiful, with excellent miniatures and excellent poses. I’m happy with the final result (I need to improve the dog’s paint job, I gave priority to the miniatures that are more important).

These miniatures will be assembled together with the MiniArt miniatures I’ve shown in my previous videos, in a single diorama set during the Third Battle of Kharkov, in February/March 1943.

That’s why I equipped the miniatures with “first model” Wehrmacht weapons from 1939-1942.

  • K98K, MG-42, and not the STG44 and G43.

I hope you like it!

I hope you enjoyed this set and how I painted the miniatures.

Really very well done! Dog fur and horsehide are for me, very difficult. I need to read more or have someone here explain how to shade or shadow fur to make it look real. I could never do such a winter scene as I live in South Dakota. It is 25 here today with the 20mph wind making a wind chill of about 14. I have to paint scenes and figures in a warm climate. It will get warm here again next May, but it’s a long way off. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the compliments. I’ve never painted animals, so I can’t tell you about good animal painting techniques. I definitely need to improve the dog, as I hadn’t painted it well. Your climate is good for dioramas set in milder, warmer environments.
