Glover Webb APV

As well as other projects I’ve been scratching and kit bashing a Glover Webb APV.
This vehicle came into service around 1986/7 in its original guise and went through a few upgrades in its service life … my version is the last incarnation.
The model is a mix of hobby boss and accurate armour and a large amount of scratch building…

NIce job. It looks pretty much dead-on. You don’t see many vehicles from “The Troubles”.

I mentioned the 3D printing manufacturer, ‘Badger 3D’ in another thread.
It may be of interest to know that they have recently released a series of
subjects on the ‘Northern Ireland Troubles’ theme. These include various
Land Rovers, Saxon Patrol, Humber Pig and Saracen, together with a
selection of RUC and British Army figures. Again, these are available in a
variety of scales. Check out their ‘Badger Sett’ listing on the ‘Badger 3D’
website.

I am well aware of Badger 3D personally I don’t like them some of the NI stuff is wrong especially one of the snatch land rovers .The detail is chunky…not my thing …if you want to advertise be so king as to use another thread ….not mine

barny,

Apologies if I offended you … not my intention.
I have no commercial link with Badger 3D, just
a favourable interest in their products (as a small-
scale modeller).

That’s a nice looking scene you’ve got going there- the road looks suitably scuffed up, the painted kerbstones and the double yellows add a great pop of color there on the side. The metal fencing is cool looking too- is that scratch-built or a resin/PE item?

Building up nicely mate. Like the uneven yellow lines on one side as you often see that here and there. Figure looks good as well.

Their RUC figures have some inaccuracies (e.g. holster is wrong on kneeling figure, baton gunner should be wearing a helmet NOT a soft cap) but I guess they are the only game in town at the moment!

I decided to add a tree to the bare bit of ground helps add some extra height to the scene…each leaf has been stuck individually…
I’ve also move the Land Rovers angle as I think it works better …more todo yet .

Looking better and better with each addition- the paint cans and debris are particularly nice and I think the small patch of greenery and the tree is authentic looking- as is the bits of weeds growing out from the bollard.

Cheers mate much appreciated

This just went up 4 or 5 levels. Superb details. DPM is done to an excellent standard, and the dirty boots are nice.

The tree adds a good new point of focus. And you nailed the weathering on the metal fence.

I’m hoping for some top cover out of the roof hatch ??
