Looking good mate … and big !!
They are big, bombers aren’t they, take up a lot of space on the display shelf. That’s probably why I don’t build that many, stick with non wingey things on the whole, unless they fold to go down a lift.
The glass cases for the wingspan make them huge.
Anyway Under carriage was one of the best I’ve built, very positive locations, usually they are a bit vague.
Can’t say I’d heard of these guys, but the kit box artwork is really helpful. And before anybody says, “why didn’t you build that one”? in 1/32 scale! I don’t have the wing span space.
masking up over brown,Humbrol 29, a colour Airfix endorse for the model. The artwork above looks too desert yellow.
with Tamiya Olive green over brown, another excellent colour for airbrushing.
masking peeled off, now for some exhaust residue staining, it does look different with the cam going down to the bomb bay, it usually ends short and the black line is high up on the fuselage on a standart night ops Lanc.
looks like there are stains for both exhausts from the inner engines, but only staining on the inner exhaust from the outer engines, probably due to the wing Dihedral.
the potential for overdoing this is very real, light staining above, heavier on the undersides.
engine fronts and props and the dreaded hand painting the cockpit framing up next.
I always do this, try painting it with a brush, then start masking using tamiya tape.
last peel, needs some gentle scraping and touching in here and there.
the canopy, nose blister and props fitted, let that lot dry before I invert the whole crate and fit those PE Flaps and the Grand slam Bomb.
The piece above the front gun fairing needs to come off as it shouldn’t be on there.
port wing flap installed.
inverted view, with the grand slam bomb fitted.
a few adjustments still to be made, like that nose pane out of line, I’ve ordered aftermarket decals for this.
Very nice mate … good clean build and a great finish on it. Nicely done
