Gulf War Question on British Warrior Vehicle

hi guys, so the other day i bought some decals for 1/35 British Warrior vehicles during tge gulf war.

and as i took a closer look at the warrior vehicles i noticed some seemed to be equipped with Milan launchers on the turrets.

i don’t remember seeing this any where, so did this happen?

Hello,

I found two pics in this link.

And you can see the same markings than the ones of your decals sheet.

Another one with different markings:

So, for the greater modelling good, those interested in how to tackle this should perhaps refer themselves to the Blog my modelling mate - Pete Smith runs:

Pete’s Model World : Warrior Milan Mount Revised

You may wish to trawl back and see how he first tackled it, then revised it in light of more info. His site is easy enough to navigate; his project withered a bit on the vine, but I’m sure those interested can follow as they see fit.

I don’t recall he ever wound it all up - but then - we often get distracted along the way in a project - or is that just me?

Anyway, hopefully those interested enough will find what they want.

Beware that this is a photo from the 2003 Iraq War (or its aftermath?) and not the 1991 Gulf War, as shown by the CID panel on the hull side.

Hi guys,

thanks for all the help, i don’t plan on building one, its simply the case of never having seen this before.

You might be able to find someone who wants to build a WMIK Defender with the 40 mm GMG. They can purchase the kit with the Milan launcher and give it to you, and use the Live Resin GMG. The Milan mount is different on the Warrior, but that’s pretty minor.

That long stowage box in the lower left of the photo is available in the HobbyBoss Land Rover WMIK w/ Milan kit. Extra rounds can be found in the HobbyBoss French VBL Milan kit.

That is actually two boxes, as the crews have two launch posts, one fitted to turret gunners position, and the other for dismount, the boxes/ cases , are the night sights, called MIRA, a thermal sight that fits on top of the normal unit.

Case in picture, bottom right, sight on top of post.
