To start the year off, I decided to build a “simple” 1/144 Gundam kit that did not require any painting.
To my surprise and delight, this has turned out to be enjoyably complex.
Having watched a couple of the Gundam movies on streaming, the Zaku featured extensively and was tantilised to find a little kit at the local comic emporium for £19. Compared to similar Macross kits, which are my main interest was very reasonable.
I started the build yesterday and was blown away by the complexity of what was meant to be a simple mecha build to start my year off with.
Had some initial issue with breaking a locating peg, but that is minor.
Overall, I am sold and I will be building more!
Next time I will post the sequential build of the left leg which I have started just to give you insight to the complexity of the kit.
Till next time!

Some rather nice details on that Gavin- I assume that it is posable when it is fully assembled?

Hi Karl, yeah apparently it is posable. I’ll include a snap shot of the poses shown on the instruction sheet.
Till later.

As promised, here is the left leg assembly followed by the pose sheet.
That was for one leg only, pretty impressive, eh?
Well thats all for now, till later.

Thanks for showing the poses sheet
.I also wanted to ask- does it need glue or is it a kind of ‘push to fit’ assembly?

That is all part of the charm, it’s all push fit.
Easy-peasy.
Till later.

Looks good. I’ve had one of these for years moulded in bright pink plastic. I’ve always thought about repainting it WW2 German 3-tone Panzer cammo.
I’ve never seen any of the cartoons, so want to go a bit wild with it.

Do it in multi-tone pink digital - San Francisco urban camo?

Cheers,
