Along the fulcrum I simply built this old kit , I made the pilot from an old astronaut figure
The base is wood painted “pumpkin orange”

I used to have blind faith in Hasegawa’s kits, so their MiG-21 was my prime choice to build MiG-21/Chengdu J-7. However with the advent of Revell and Revised KP releases of MiG-21 F-13/MF/UM variants, it’s obvious that the Hasegawa’s MiG-21 is grossly out of scale (1/67) and lacking in internal/external detail. Nevertheless, it makes a good representation as a desk top display which you have wonderfully recreated with a stand to mount it and in terms of price, the Hasegawa kit makes a cheap and cheerful option to fill of display shelves or using it as a testbed to try out conversions and practise/experiment modelling techniques on.
