I’m doing a Barbarossa Soviet KV-1 right now, and how could I not, this being a rather strong winter at the moment? My question is how do I paint the roadwheel surfaces properly, which of course are not rubber? I’m assuming shiny metal, but I’d like to have more information before I get to that point.
Yup, shiny metal, then whatever local earth conditions are present… dust, mud, etc.
Shiny metal if the vehicle is in motion, or has just recently come to rest. Steel will take on a patina of rust overnight, but rubs off quickly when the tank starts moving again.
