I am completing a Soviet T-28 in summer 1941. I would add one or two crewmen on the turret hatches. Were the Soviet tankers of summer 1941 dressed with grey or grey blue suits? Could they wear black leather jackets? Or what else?
Thank you for any help.
First, and this is the main thing, we must remember that shoulder straps appeared in the Red Army only in 1943, before that military insignia were located on the collar and sleeve.
Until February 1, 1941, the tankersβ tunic was βsteelβ color.
After that, it became like everyone elseβs - green.
Helmets could be fabric
or leather.
Externally, almost the same, but there are differences.
The overalls could be dark blue (up to blue or light blue) or black.
This is an example of dark blue color.
Here, based on the shades, you can assume that they had overalls of different colors
I provide links to a selection of photographs of Soviet tankers:
Remember: you only need ones without shoulder straps!
My kitography of tanker figurines can help you select sets for purchase. It is available for download in pdf format on my website https://in-mirror-scale.ru in the Library->Figurines section.
β¦ and your site has been added to my favorites!
Thanks for the great info!!
I get an error when attempting to download that file:
I tried the Horse file listed above it and it works, so the problem appears to be limited to this file only.
