This does not appear to be a rebox as some have suggested it might be. It does have different colored plastic - hopefully it’s of the “non warping” kind.

I have built a Zimi Model H-60. Other than the darker colored plastic, they are a direct rebox of the Kitty Hawk parts. They didn’t even update or change the KH logos, instructions, nor decals.

I guess their predrilling of the fuselage holes threw me. I haven’t seen your build - you usually like to post everything you build. Photos? Build log? I’d love to see it.
I wonder if your prediction on the M109A7 will also be true…

Built for a customer and he requested no pics be posted, so be it.
The one with darker plastic is the Zimi Models boxing.
By the way, the pics come from a Facebook post where the guy is saying that they are exactly the same kit.

Wow Gino, how and when did you get your hands on a Zimi kit?
They came on the market about 12 months ago. The above Facebook post is from Jan of '24. The box still has the Kitty Hawk logo. They are on eBay. Sprue Brothers and other suppliers are carrying them too.

It’s a stretch, but let’s put on our Vulcan thinking beanies and look at this logically:
First of all, why would I say

While I did go to grade school in the same county as you, I actually did learn to read. To say it does not appear to be a rebox makes no sense for anyone if they had read that statement. Your math ain’t qute mathin’.
But that’s a minor point. Let’s move on. If you say you built the Zimi kit for a mysterious customer, I have no reason to doubt you. But if it came on the market a year ago, with the Kitty Hawk logo and Kitty Hawk instructions, how does that make it a Zimi kit? I posit that it was not, even if Sprue Brothers now gives it a ZIM prefix . Of course they would - that doesn’t make a Kitty Hawk kit into a Zimi kit. There’s an analogy that Dave Chappelle could explain better than I can. I won’t attempt it here lest the censor Nazis stroke out.
We all know Zimi has acquired the molds from Kitty Hawk and Panda.
Zimi has created box art for an M109A7 kit - we saw it over two months ago.
You stated categorically:

But what are they waiting for? Santa’s elves to put them all into new boxes?
They’ve reboxed other kits, and put their own artwork and logo on them. The ZSU 23-4 comes to mind. Same with the ZBD -04A. A couple of 1/48 Urals as well. Probably a few more I’m not aware of. So why would they put their logo on all of these kits, and not the one you built?
Again, you may think you built the new Zimi kit, and like the universe’s most famous logician, Spock, maybe you did, having discovered some new way to traverse the time/space continuum as he did, and thus obtaining and building the kit before it came out. Of course I could be totally wrong, but again I ask, what are they waiting for on the M109A7 and the new helos? Where are they? What’s taking so long? I suggest they’re doing something to them. Adding Manga figures, making a box that folds into a diorama base, who knows? I guess we’ll all find out together.

Wow, you have way too much time on your hands. As far as I am concerned, you can believe what you want. I really don’t care either way.
I just know that Kitty Hawk folded, and you could no longer get their kits. A few months later Zimi Model announced they had bought the KH molds and started reissuing the kits as they were, unchanged other than a darker plastic. Maybe they already had a bunch of KH boxes printed and didn’t want to waste money on new boxes, I don’t know and again, don’t care. Call them what you want but they are what Zimi released and show on their website. If they are upgrading them further, great.
If you have some kind of inside info and are working with Zimi, just say it instead of all this cryptic BS and insisting that they will have new models. If you do great, I welcome the new kits. If not, we are all just speculating and machinating on nothing.
