I have an Italeri 1/48 MH-60K model kit coming in a few weeks. I was looking for decals and saw some interesting ones at Werner Wings for an HH-60G. The I taleri kit has some parts for a G model so I ordered the decals. I have used Werner Wings decals before for a UH-60A medevac, an Italeri 1/72 kit years ago. They worked quite well. I am hoping to do an HH-60G in AFSOC grey, I have lots of information to gather on this subject before the kit arrives.
Looking forward to it.
Sounds like it will be really nice. Werner’s Wings decals are great. I highly recommend them.
The Italeri kit has everything but the FLIR ball to build it as an MH/HH-60G. It is odd that they labeled it is an MH-60K though since it doesn’t have any parts for an MH-60K such as the unique nose radar housing and the sensors over the windscreen.
Good luck with it.
Thanks, is there an after market company that makes resin parts for this kit? I am looking for the fuel tank and ammo box that were in the cargo bay. Wasn’t there a company, Cobra Company, that once did helicopter resin parts?
Warner’s Wings does 1/48 resin for helos, but he doesn’t have those parts.
Cobra Company has gone out of business. His masters and such were bought by Lone Star Models and they do offer some of the old CC sets occasionally. You have to check their website to see what they have available at any given time. Well, it looks like his website is now gone, but he appears to have a Facebook page.
Res-Kit out of Ukraine (available on eBay) does a few exterior sets (engine, rotor head, wheels, under doghouse, etc.) and a 3D printed decal set for the interior, but not the parts you are looking for.
I did find this on eBay as well, but it doesn’t look to have the internal aux tanks or ammo can.
I don’t know of any others who are/were doing 1/48 helo parts.
Good luck.
You are fortunate in that the items you want are the easiest to scratch build. A little .010 and .020 sheet and some brass shim should do for most of it.
Yeah if I had the dimensions ,sizes and shapes of everything and knew the hoses and fittings. I have no clue what the shapes and sizes are and will not make “fantasy” parts. I will look around but easy is NOT ALWAYS that easy, at least for me.
Good man. Dimensions for this internal fuel tank: 74 x 19.5 x 42
And for this one used as a pair: 34.5 x 36.5 x 42
Thanks, at least I have an idea now, most appreciated!
Any decent walkaround books with pictures? Thanks.
