HKCW cvrw fox

After the very nice post lady delivered this I thought it would be rude not to start it😀

The parts are cast in a very nice soft resin so they not too brittle,

Just an hour in and the lower interior is ready for some primer,I’ve used bostic gel for this and it gives just enough time to position the parts before it goes off.

Off to the shed to give it a coat👍

It’s an old one I guess. I thought HKCW was no longer in activity.

FWIW, Scalemates says it still is. This kit is from 2023, anyway.

Whatever the age it’s still VERY good👍

The Fox is a product of Mike Shackleton’s (SMM & Leopard Club) mate who runs HKCW. I CAD-ed the wheel masters for this a couple years ago, so it’s good to see it being built!

A whole range is available via Scorpion Miniature Models. Fox was released 2 years ago.

Well looking at the quality so far the Scimitar might just make the Crimble list😀

A bit of an update, drivers pit done and dirtied up a bit. There is a bin with Rarden 3 round clips anybody tell me what colour the bottom of the clips is?

That’s it for now it’s going together very well and no problems so far😀

Ivan, although not yet built I can vouch for the Scimitar Gulf war update set and the Falklands war back date sets. They all look very good quality, also have several Centurion and Chally 1 sets waiting for my glacier build rate to catch up too. That all said I’m following along as I picked up the Fox kit last year.

Brass rounds with a black clip/ load handle, covering 3 rounds,

As Frank said above, but I think there was a blue plate on the bottom of the garb handle on the clip … Max @Maximus8425 might remember better as I didnt spend much time on 30mm.

The ammunition nature will decide what colour the base clip plastic is. APDS (Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot) will be black as it’s armour defeating, HE will be yellow due to it having a high explosive content and DS Prac (Discarding Sabot Practice) is blue due to it being a training round. They all match the colour of the projectile.
This pic shows DS Prac and you can just see the base clip plastic in the box. The plastic also has holes in it so you can recognise the ammunition nature by feel in the dark. Off the top of my head APDS has no holes or possibly one, HE has two and DS Prac three, but I’ll check that and update if needs be. If i was building it they would be yellow just as a contrast, but that’s me.

It’s a big package, it looks very sincere, it would be rude not to start, hahaha. As far as I know, this model is still great.

Ok a bit more,a problem of my own making today🙄do NOT join the hull parts together until you have put the engine deck in😳got it in but it was a fight!

Individual wing nuts on the side bins quite easy if you drill holes first

The bins on

Excuse the mess that obviously will disappear under the primer

Good afternoon, some progress with the wheel stations,
again nice and simple and good detail, the only extra when fixing in place were some brake pipes added.

Work in progress,

Mounted.

Lower hull 99% done and primer on,

Pretty straightforward, steering links and tie downs added I can only assume there are a lot under the hull for securing it on the platform when they chucked them out of the back of a herky bird😀
