Ho 229, Seiran, FW-190F at Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility

The Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration, and Storage Facility , also known colloquially as "Silver Hill ", was a storage and conservation facility of National Air and Space Museum. In January of 2000, I the opportunity to visit with some modeling friends and take a special access tour.

The restoration of the WW2 era Japanese M6A1 Seiran had just been completed.

The famous restored FW-190F

Part of a Horten Ho 229 (or Gotha Go 229 or that’s what the guide said IIRC.

Restored F-86

Being an armor modeler almost exclusively, I tagged along but lacked any deep interest in most of the airplanes. Here are a few photos I thought might be of interest. If there’s interest will most more etc.

The second photo is not an MXY-7 but a Nakajima Kikka (Japanese copy of a Messerschmitt 262).
