Hobbyeasy to restock Kitty Hawk Black hawk kits next month

All kits, and very competitively priced, too; well, I thought so.

Shipping will cost as much as the kit, maybe more

Current exchange rate: 1 USD = 7.79611 HKD Not bad.
But they really dropped the ball on their 1/35 Black Hawks.

not necessarily… surface shipping will be quite cheap.

You’re correct! I forgot about that…I never use it.

What the deal with the Blackhawks that’s so wrong? You do get a lot of kit for your money

Still posting from Phone so this will be brief. Poor fit in some areas. Excellent detailing in some areas while area under seat is whacking. If you’re going to show that area then do it correctly. Otherwise don’t bother. Decals weren’t the greatest either. Some folks have complained about the instructions, but that’s not something that really bothers me.

Ah, yes, fully agree. I did a littlebird and was very disappointed by the faults as you identified, am thus reluctant to go all in on a Blackhawk. Sorry, I thought you were talking about the pricing / hobbyeasy. Must. Read. Carefullier.

I have built a couple of their H-60 kits. From what I have found, the above areas are easy to fix and they can come out great. They are 1000 times better than the old Academy kits. I’ll take one any day.

By the way, I have not encountered a warped fuselage like above. I know a couple guys who did and it was easy to fix with a little hot water and gentle bending. Most of it closed up when the interior was added and it was closed up. They said it wasn’t a major issue.

Fixing the problem doesn’t negate the fact that the fit was poor. There were a few other areas for me that need finessing. I’ve “fixed” some of their other kits as well. I won’t build another of their Black Hawks. It is better than Academy’s, but there are too many other things to build right now.

Yup, agree. Didn’t say the issues don’t exist, just that they were easy for me to fix and not really big a deal.

By the way, Sprue Brothers has them all in stock from $111 to $129 each.

Me neither… :upside_down_face:
