What a coincidence. I was just thinking about this today: My late father told me when I was a teen that John Banner was actually a good looking guy in his earlier years. I don’t know what he might have been in, so I never saw anything from him early in his career.
But where is Kinchloe and Carter?

I’ve seen him in an Alfred Hitchcock episode, *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea,*The Blue Angel, (remake of the Marlene Dietrich Film, which I happen to be using in my research) Perry Mason, and apparently did a voice in Billy Wilder’s One, Two, Three, which also figures into my Cold War Berlin research. He played in a lot of things in the US which I may have seen as a kid and didn’t even know it (Father Knows Best, for instance.)

Sgt Shultz is way too thin! And what’s with that helmet? Col Klink’s riding trousers need more triangular bulk too…
But at least it triggered memories of a show from a simpler time.

The problem with trying to make models of actual people is that is really difficult unless you laser scan them. People know what the actual people look like and you have to be spot on or it becomes obvious that you missed the mark.
