I get some good deals on eBay. I just picked up Trumpeter’s BR-2 152mm, shipping and all it came to just under $48. Scalehobbyist, which tends to have the lowest prices, has the same kit starting at $51. All that said there’s this absurd practice of people parceling out individual sprues for like $20 flooding the search results. Lotta junk to wade through to find the occasional nugget.

I generally don’t shop ebay for deals. It’s usually because the kit I’m looking for is out of production. I have some sort of a bad habit of being a day late and a dollar short to the party. I also like to try different genres of modeling so I’m not always aware of what’s in demand until I go to order it.

The same thing happens on Amazon. Remember prices for certain items during the lockdown?
Also happens there when a desirable item gets discontinued by the manufacturer.
