A fun build! A couple of places that were not quite “Tamiya” and you need to pay very close attention to the instructions as there are a lot of tricky points, but I think it came out OK.
Thanks for looking and for all the great entries here!
I’ve been weathering. I also bulked up the two big bins with spare plastic boxes and made up some tarps to cover them. I have a couple more pieces to go here and there but other than that, I’m pretty close. As I hope is obvious, I’m going for a well-used look. IMG_4531 by Russel Baer, on Flickr
'Scuse the shaky pics, too many espressos this morning. IMG_4530 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_4529 by Russel Baer, on Flickr
I’m calling this done. All the bits are on, the final dusting is done and it’s ready for it’s base.
Edit: Oops, I put up the wrong pics. These are current, still orange though. IMG_4567 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_4566 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_4561 by Russel Baer, on Flickr IMG_4558 by Russel Baer, on Flickr
The next T-55 build will be a seriously rode hard and put up wet example from Syria. I also want to do one from the Balkans theater, maybe later.
But the colour, at least on my computer screen, seems off from your earlier uploads. These are leaning orange. I’d really enjoy seeing a snap from under whatever light you used previously. You did a fine job, show it off.
Thanks. My previous pics were with a combination of daylight and the lights on my modeling bench. These pics were with next to no sunlight, taken at dusk. I’ll try and get some better shots that don’t look so orange.
Just for grins, I played with the editor function on Flickr and got this, also edited to show the finished model: IMG_4561 by Russel Baer, on Flickr
It’s actually closer to reality.
