IDF Sho't 6 Days War

Hello everybody,

I am currently working on the AFV Club Shot Centurion Mk. 5 & 5/1 1967 Early Type.

I have done some research and it seems all tanks in the 6 Days War upgraded with the 105mm gun were also upgraded with the rear long hull.
For this model I would like to have it in the 6 Days War setting with the 105mm gun but keeping the original rear hull,l however I did not find any single picture in this configuration.

Does somebody know if the configuration I want ever existed?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers

That is not true at all. 6 Day War tanks were in the original configuration mostly.

If you want to do an L7 Shot with the original hull you narrow down your marking options and vehicle configuration but such vehicles did exist

I saw many pictures with the L7 gun, but either the rear of the tank is not showing in the picture or shows the “long hull”, that is why I asked if somebody has expertise on this.

There are some minor details that can help you identify if it is an upgraded Shot or not.

Front headlights of upgraded vehicles are like this:

the original headlights are like this:

The upgraded hulls have a square box on the left and on the rear left of the turret you can see the searchlight mount. These details do not exist on the original vehicles.

If you don’t want to use the rear fuel tank extension maybe we can trade for it and the associated parts that go with it.

Thank for the info, very useful.
Do you think was feasible a tank with a not upgraded hull but with an upgraded turret (L7 gun, container for the searchlight on the rear of the turret and searchlight mount in the mantlet)?

I do not have the rear fuel tank extension, just the plain AFV kit.

Ah. That makes it simple. You’ll want to just keep it as is and use the 20 pounder. Everything gtdeath13 shows is correct, but without the fuel tank extension you’ll want that gun.
