Joe
my phone has no issue with the site.
Which browser are you using?
i don’t have an i phone. is it just a general notice to everyone or is it only posted to members that will have issues? from my research ios 15 is only used on i phones not laptops.
I got the impression that this warning is posted when some website uses some feature that the visitors browser does not support, it could even be that that website requires a specific version of the browser to function correctly.
i asked AI grok if laptops are affected by or use ios 15. it said no, laptops do not use it except for macs. would jim know more about this or anyone here who is a computer geek (not implying disparagingly) i am not a wiz with computers and their workings. if this only applies to i phones then that should have been included in the message and it should be changed to show that. not everyone has one.
Joe
Did the warning explicitly say that iOS 15 was incompatible?
Maybe this contains something that explains your issues:
Compare with your laptop setup
no this is what it says at the top of my page:
Your browser will soon be incompatible with this community. To keep participating here, please upgrade your browser or learn more.
when i click on learn more it takes me to this page. i’m guessing you are not getting this on your page.
Joe
And what browser and version are you using? And if you say Internet Explorer I will throw things at you.
i use google/duck duck go. i should also say i have widows 7. this laptop was given to me by a friend who had it laying around.

I presume Google means Google Chrome but the degradation seems to apply to many browsers on Windows 7.
Quote from the website/forum I linked to in my previous post:
“Chrome and all browsers based on it at Win7 is no longer supported / updated”
so it is the windows 7 not the ios15 for cell phones.
The issue is browsers designed for Windows 7 or ios15 way back in history when Windows 7 or ios15 was the “latest and greatest”.
i need to move to windows 10 t least then. i didn’t want to add anything to this laptop since i probably at some point get a new one when i can afford it. i will see if i can find a free W 10 download.
Windows 10 is also going obsolete. Windows 10 may require more resources
than Windows 7 so an older computer may not be able to support Windows 10.
Microsoft will continue to send out security upgrades until this autumn if I
remember correctly.
They are already nagging me every time I start the old computer.
Meanwhile I have…
…an iMac!
Actually, I have a dual-boot iMac with Windows 10 on one side and MacOS on the other side, meaning I divided my Mac’s hard disk into 50% Mac and 50% Windows. I do not advise ever doing this again. It was the “Best of both worlds” for years until I realized that true PCs have a security microchip installed for upgrading Windows 10 and 11. A Mac doesn’t have this PC security microchip, and thus it cannot download all of the latest Windows 10 updates. I called Tech Support, and my Mac is called a “Virtual PC” because a Mac is never a PC, so Tech Support “Washed their hands clean” of it because it’s not a real PC. So half of my Mac is “Semi-functional” with Windows 10 and it can never be upgraded to Windows 11. Microsoft stopped supporting dual-boot Macs years ago. I can no longer surf the internet on my Mac “Virtual PC” side (hence “semi-functional” because Windows 10 can’t get a secure internet connection to download anything…the browser software is messed up because I’m really using a Mac). Now I am using my “50% iMac” side.
Meanwhile, I find Apple computer and software products just so much better! I’ve been a Windows PC user for decades and I really like the interface, but the poor Microsoft customer service, PC reliability, Windows software bugs, clueless software update problems, etc. just goes to show how superior Apple products are to PCs. In fact, many Microsoft stores closed whereas Apple stores thrived.
So if you’re having Windows 7 issues, that’s because Microsoft stopped supporting earlier versions of Windows in a business ploy to get you to upgrade your hardware and software. Windows 10 will not be supported anymore and the move is to Windows 11. That’s how Microsoft, PC CPU, and PC makers make money.
Well Peter my computer actually totally crashed. Evidently it couldn’t take my upgrade to windows 10 or most likely it was my uhm my reaction to my disappointment at its refusal to work right-lol.
Now I am using my iPad mini and although it is not a laptop I still not that impressed with apple. It is too quirky.

@Bomber14 True, Apple isn’t for everyone, I agree, and I do still miss Windows and its GUI.
However, I got sick and tired of constantly updating my PC. Decades ago when I was a student, I played video games on my PC, and in order to play the best, latest, and greatest video games required constant upgrades to the PC’s CPU, graphics card, memory, hard drive, monitor, power supply, and heat sink and fan heat removal systems, meaning one had to build a new PC from all these parts and hope that the PC is compatible with all the software drivers and hardware from many different manufacturers. It was a total pain, but the only way to make a custom PC gaming computer. Sure, there were a few high-end PCs, but they were mega-expensive and can get outdated pretty darn fast. Back then in the 1990s and 2000s, you essentially had to build your own high-end PC to play PC video games. I learned eventually (yes, took a big “eventually”) to buy a gaming console like Playstation, Nintendo, or XBOX and save my PC’s hard disk from grinding away playing video games.
With a Mac, everything works in sync and lasts many more years reliably than a PC. It’s video games and their software technologies that kind of drive the PC evolution and upgrades because some PC users just don’t and won’t buy gaming consoles. It’s true that video games look and play better on PCs than on consoles because one has the high-end PC graphics card with RAM and the keyboard because these components are and were not cheap. But PC video games are notorious for being buggy and video game programmers have a nightmare of a time patching bugs because no two PCs are alike…many are cobbled together like I did when young. So in order to have some PC standard and commonality, Windows updates itself every few years to drive the latest PC multimedia, graphics, video games, etc. software and to do that requires a bare minimum of hardware. It has to because these PC software companies are “Big business.”
While iMacs have video games, they have a lot fewer of the PC video games because the Apple software isn’t really geared for video games as Windows software. Have you ever seen an Apple joystick at an Apple Store? Joysticks are often sold for PCs and it’s hard to play a First Person Shooter or a combat aircraft or spacecraft simulation using a mouse and keyboard or a touchscreen.
Interestingly, it’s not the PC’s CPU that Intel or AMD makes that is changing PCs and Windows because the CPUs are ultra powerful now. It’s the video graphics card like NVIDA is making that is changing the PCs and causing Windows to update constantly…and to update Windows to 10 or 11 requires a bare minimum standard of hardware processing power or else the PC user gets left behind and can’t access the latest and greatest PC software available.
Yes I was told I need at least 16gb ram to run windows 11. I just bought a refurbished dell with w10,16 gb ram and 256 storage that is upgradable. W10 is still usable and when I go to Peru I can get w11 for like $10. I like playing video games but not that good at it so I don’t play online and have never used my computer for it so that is not an issue. I hope this laptop I bought will be ok for my use. I stayed away from any pentiumor celery systemsas they are outdated. I think I got an I 5 processor.
An example of my dislike of apple, my iPad replaced pentium and celeron with the wrong words and I couldn’t see it because the keypad takes up the screen and it won’t let me scroll back to the spot it changed to replace them. Right now I can’t see what I’m typing. It is stupidity.
