Just passed but I’m assuming that those who wish to visit shows will scan the various sites in any case; (I actually forgot to mention it folks!) This one was courtesy of Avon IPMS, located at Thornbury just outside Bristol, in the SW UK.
As usual, my modelling mate Pete Smith, who runs a Blog, has reported on the show here:
Pete’s Model World : IPMS Avon Show 4th August 2024 (petesmodelworld.blogspot.com)
It was indeed, a cracking show.

Missed this one Brian as unfortunately I had to work and couldn’t get the time off.
We (Kitmaker British Bulldogs) will be at the Barnstaple, North Devon show on the 18th August. We have a 16’ long stand with only two of us attending!

It was a pretty good show, but then, we haven’t attended many at all this year.
Good luck at Barnstaple - that’s a lot of table to cover(!)

Great coverage of a lot of outstanding models. Brian, your and Pete’s tables look excellent. Great display and some fantastic models. Looks like a splendid show and a wonderful day.

Well, thank you Matthew, but Dear God, I had to trot out some old war-horses I really did.
Still, it was good to get back in the groove as it were.

Looks like it was a great show with a lot of excellent models. Among other things, I notice a few Ferrets, especially the one in urban camo!

Richard, there were some great little - and some not so little - (the 1:16 Achilles for instance) models on display - including as you note the Ferrets; I myself, was particularly taken with what I can only refer to as the French Collection (although it included a Dutch AMX 13 - I think the pic at number 55 shows it).

I noticed that French collection too Brian, and you may have noticed the Danish M-41DK in the bottom right of that picture. Then in the following picture is a very nice Norwegian NM-116 (aka M-24). I have the AFV club NM-116 and plan to finish it in that Nordic splinter which I love! Shame I missed the show this year.

I did indeed Terry, and gave you a fleeting thought (re the Danish version), only fleeting mind!
I too have the NM-116 but I’m pretty sure yours will be completed long before mine.

Brian just FYI I have Acronis anti-virus and it flagged Pete’s modelworld link as a malicious website Make of that what you will, it may be a false report but I decided on balance not to go there - maybe Pete could check if his site really is secure/clean?

I’ll pass it to him, he’s dropping in to my gaff later today.

Tim, assured by Pete Smith that all is well but obviously a tricky decision; is there something lurking that your system has detected that no one knows about?
On the other hand, and a not very scientific response, if there was something amiss would others not have picked anything up by now?
(It was still a bloody good show)

Link was fine for me. Annoyingly I forgot about this one again as it’s only 5 minutes from my old house… Looks like a nice selection on display … Hopefully I will remember the Yeovil one … Whenever that is

It was a good show John; the next Yeovil one is 27 Oct. I won’t be going as October’s a bit busy.

Glad to hear all seems well site-wise, I only recently switched to Acronis a few months ago & that’s the first thing it’s flagged as mailicious – hence my concern. Who knows, maybe I’ve got default max settings & it triggered because the words “gun”, or "Algerian boxer” are in Pete’s text
