Love to. As with the NMRA Natcon, it depends on life. I know the3 wife is planning a two week river tour of Europe this year, but now sure when.

Basel to Antwerp with a side jaunt up the Mosel to Trier, 2008. Good time.

Visited my granduncle’s grave in Luxembourg. Just down from Patton. Only family member who didn’t come home.

What happened to Phil’s? Model shelves were practically bare in January and February.

They only really care about RC now…. Has really went down hill from a modelers prospective.. I had been years since I have seen an actual new release kit there that wasn’t second hand.

That seems to be the way of most hobby shops. I used to work at a HobbyTown on my days off from my day job, and liked it, but probably three quarters of their sales were rc. That said, even today they have a really good selection of plastic and even model railroad. There’s still a good cadre of non-rc modelers around this area.

Phil’s told me that they’re discontinuing their trains after this year. I asked about the models - they have a really good supply of paint brands - and in January they said that they get in a model shipment, and on weekends they pretty well sell out. But then I went back in February and I didn’t see anything that looked like it hadn’t been there weeks before. And the second-hand stuff - they want today’s retail+ prices for them. When I lived up there and went down to their original store down around that fountain park area of town, even back then they said that the majority of their sales were online. I guess in a sense they’re involved in what’s shutting down their brick and mortar operations.
