Is The Bumerang A "Paper Panzer"?

Zvezda makes a well-regarded kit of this unit, and DEF Model even makes a replacement wheel set. But when I looked up the vehicle itself, it seems to not even be in the actual world. I’ve heard about “paper panzers” before, and I wonder if this is some abandoned design or what.

I think it is still under development.

I am reminded of Tamiya’s very old Hummer with the M242 chain gun kit, to learn only one such unit was manufactures in real life.

Russian propaganda …like T-14 Armata (couple dozen) and SU-57(30 +/-). Enough for Victory Day parades in Red Square. But beyond that…

Or the Trumpy Osorio kit, Takom’s PL-01…

Greetings.
Boomerang was not a “paper tank”.
several prototypes were created in different configurations (IFVs, APCs), with armored steel hulls. Different equipment was tested.
Based on the results of the tests, it was instructed to make changes to the armored hull - it became larger and the angles of inclination of the sheets changed.
Models from Panda and Star are very consistent with just those prototypes.
and yes, the probability of a series is questionable.
