has anyone here built the Italeri 1/48 AH-1Z viper?
i know there are other brands that make this kit and they will be more detailed, i was just wondering if it was worth having ago at one as there is a cheap one on the market right now.
and yes i have the academy and kitty hawk versions, in-case you are thinking of recommending those instead.

The kit is trying to represent an early prototype Z or probably more “accurately” a 4 blade Whiskey. It has the straight exhaust and not the turned of a late W or Z. If that is something you wanted in your display collection than worth the effort but otherwise I would not get the kit imho, ymmv.
It is not a Z at all. It is an AH-1W fitted with a the 4 blades of the future Z to test them. It was not a fielded helo version. It is also poorly detailed with a really weak cockpit. I would stay away from it unless you have to have an inaccurate prototype.
