Jaghdpanther G2 + Schwimmwagen; Das Reich, Unternehmen Frühlingserwachen, 1945

This is what I´m currently working on: Jagdpanther G2 + Schimmwagen. Das Reich, Unternehmen Frühlingserwachen, 1945. Jagd from RFM and Schimm from Tamiya.

So far I´ve painted the dunkelgelb aus 44 DGI and still thinking about applying the camo scheme to the Schwimm or leave it this way…BTW, Schwimm DEF Models wheels are on their way home.

The telegraph pole comes from the 35541 MiniArt set. Tank commander from 35465 MiniArt Panzer Crew. A couple of figures for the Sch will arrive tomorrow…hope so!

Carlos

Jagd´s white camo is almost done; now it just needs some dust, mud and debris so it’s turn for the schwimm…

Hello Carlos,

This looks great!

Could you please explain the purpose of the blue surface in photo 1 (I believe it’s Mr. Surfacer)? Is it intended to mimic the appearance of cast metal?

Additionally, regarding the remnants of the white snow camouflage, could you explain how this effect was achieved?

Thank you,
WilloW

Hi

It looks like blue but it´s grey: Yes, cast metal made with Tamiya putty+Mr. Hobby liquid cement.

The faded camo white paint is done just by airbrushing the tank with Ammo washable white camo (AMIG 0024), waiting for a few minutes and then moistening the surface and rubbing it with an old brush.

I waited for just 5 minutes to get rid of the white paint because I wanted a very worn effect…if you want more white to remain on the surface of the tank, then just wait for 7-8 minutes.

Keep on working on the terrain. I’ve used Ak muddy ground, Ak dry ground, real earth and pebbles, Ak snow sprinkles-snow micro balloons, still water and Ak dry ground. Telegraph pole comes from the MiniArt set. Green Stuff World bushes and Woodland Scenics turf.

I´m currently working on the T Rex tracks for the Jagd. The tracks from the RFM kit are nice but they come with very short pins which make them quite fragile.

My main reference pic is the well known photo from the LSSAH division; it´s not a pic from the Das Reich division but it captures the atmosphere in the Hungarian battlefields at that moment in time.

Fantastic work. Your texturing and finishing on the cold metal of the tank looks so realistic you expect it to be to freezing to the touch.

I’m following along for this one - keep the updates coming.

It should be finished in a couple of days.

The jagd needs a bit of stowage and I don´t know yet if I’m using one or two tankers…let´s see.

Looking great Carlos :+1: I would suggest adjusting the tow cable to a more positive fixation, as it looks like it is about to get dragged by the tracks  I see you have shown the retaining clips on the rear of the engine deck flattened…so maybe another hold point needed??

Thank you for your nice comments. The tow cable is not that near the tracks…maybe it´s because of the perspective in the picture. I’m straightening the retaining clips; they are PE parts so I guess I bent them accidentally when working on the tank.
