New kit of a Somua MCG 307 (f) – FFI, Paris 1944
Thanks for posting the pic here : we clearly see the upper armour is made of narrower plates ( compared to the kit ones )
Ran into the same upper armor plate thickness issue present here on KM’s MCG S307(f) 7.5cm Pak 40 kit. The plate on the upper hull was far too thick and needed to be sanded down. That wasn’t even the biggest issue, though.
The biggest issue was scale. KM’s S307(f) pak 40 was (is) enormous. Next to Dragon or Tamiya figures (like the new late war German grenadiers), it’s the size of a Panther.
They’re closer to 1:32 than 1:35 and I’ve had to custom bash/scratch the figs just so it appears closer to it’s real-life likeness.
Just be warned, those who are interested. Unless they’ve fixed the scale issue, you’ll need to account for the larger size and plan your build accordingly.
Thing about the Suma in general, you weren’t going anywhere fast according to what I read 25mph was it’s fastest speed. But it had the power to pull heavy loads. Real heavy.
There was one survivor the Suma tank recovery half-track and trailer in south Lebanon in 82 still in the original french color a hold over from Vichy France. Never saw it after we moved north
Oooh ! I didn’t like their Somua with PaK40. And I made BRACH’s model.
I was planning buying KM Model 35002 Leichter Schutzenpanzerwagen P-107 U-304(f), which has issues, which is basic. And I know it will give me pain. But if this kit also has scale issue… it would go to the bin ! Their Unic P107 Pionneer is based on the Saumur Museum one but all the front is Frankenstein…

The entire interior of the KM Somua Pak 40 is incorrect, as well. If you want a realistic interior, its a TON of work.
See my current project here, for those interested.
