My favorite steam engine Baureihe 52. From the 8 min. mark you can see thath the engines were handpainted. So no need for airbrushing the kit(s). I only wish that Trumpeter included a Wannentender instead off a Steifrahmentender

My favorite German locomotive. I have several by Piko including the one with the Kondenztender.

Hi Rob. I build the Trumpeter 1/35 scale kit some years ago. Trumpeter went the easy way and copied the CMK resin. They did the same with their other locomotive kits. Now I learned that the Steifrahmentender was more or less uncommon since it didn´t work well. After building various Flachwagen kit I had the idea to use the bogies for the Wannentender. But this may happen after my retirement in 10 years.
I live close to the Deutsches Dampflok Museum, who have a Kriegslok in original condition. So plenty of references at hand.
