The VMS is flexible and easier to sand. In addition, the black color makes it easier to see what you’re removing.

After you’ve sanded and polished the CA filler, and before final primer, it’s advisable to do a final seam check by applying Mr Surfacer 500, 1000, or 1500. Wipe that off with lacquer thinner and a cotton bud. Then sand and polish it again until you’re happy with the result.

Hate to say it, but before you proceed, it looks like you’ll need to do some major clean-up of most of that old putty — better to start over with a clean slate. HTH
