Excellent dio and builds! Any build pics of the HL D7E Rime plow or tips?

Kit looks pretty straightforward.

It’s up next for me in the build que…

Thanks. The D7E was a good kit. Biggest problem was warped parts. When I got the kit, I was so excited I just started building. Didn’t realize the warped parts til I was gluing them together. That caused some headaches. Soaking in hot water solved most of the problems.
Also, you may find that the cabin style varies from unit to unit. There are different sizes and brush guards. Mine is a mixture from several different pictures.
This was my first 3D print kit. I didn’t realize how fragile the small parts would be. Thankfully, many extras are provided.
The tracks were my absolute favorite. Generally, I detest the complicated individual link tracks, but these were the easiest ever. I messed up by putting them on when the instructions said to, instead of at the end.
Overall, I would love to build this kit again. I have a few products from Hobby Link and have liked them all. BTW, it looks like all the parts to build the non-Rome Plow version are included. So if you want to scratch your own cabin, you have an option. Also, the engine is great, but totally covered when finished and I wouldn’t have built it if I knew.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, the engine and all the details in my kit look great.

I’m building the HL M113 bridge kit now and the engineering of the kit parts is amazing. The bridge launches and folds.

Only problem I ran I in to were hundreds of tiny dots from the printing process that I couldn’t see or feel until I got primer or paint in the parts. I’ll use Mr Surfacer rattle can on the next one.

Again, great builds, weathering , figures and layout on the diorama.

That’s an outstanding job Robert. The vehicles look excellent as well as the groundwork. Very realistic weathering on everything, figs look great too. You never see scenes like this about Vietnam.

A not-your-everyday-subject.
I really like it. I also like the debris/branches on top of the bulldozer, which makes perfect sense when clearing trees and shrubs. Well thought out.

Nice little dio you got there… I love the way you did the vegetation…

An excellent depiction of an important, but not widely portrayed aspect of the war!

Really outstanding diorama. Everything is executed to perfection - the vehicles, the figures, the foliage, the ever present red soil. Excellence everywhere you look, and there is a lot to look at here. Fantastic work.

Great build of a subject dear to my heart. I got there too late to get into the landclearing units, but did serve as a dozer operator in construction engineers. Had a good friend who passed last year who was in 62nd Landclearing. He would have loved this. Again, great job!! Wayne

really liked that dozer. Never saw one, but sure there were some. Most clearing up north was done by combat engineers, and det cord. The only bulldozers we ever saw were much smaller and brought out via Chinook. Did see a road grader a couple times, and how it got there is still unknown to me as it was too big to fly out. Funny this was the engineers pretty much did everything manually with their hands and a winch. Anything much heavier and they brought in Sea Bees.

Just a really nice build in every part. But that bulldozer makes the day!

What a great scene … the way the foliage and ground has been broken up is superb. The dirt effects are done to perfection as well. Lovely work all over
