Very nice, also confirms footman loops are separate on the kit.
Is it just me or is the idler really low?
Mal
Extremely
Hopefully it’s assembly related, rather than design

That’s probably it. In addition to the idler center being far too low compared to the road wheel axles, the whole vehicle is sitting too low on the road wheels.
Sounds like the torsion bars have collapsed

Those guys are a definite yes for me! So glad they got the correct correct flak vests unlike Andy’s TC.
Lo rider AFV! Would not be the first… Great looking figures, too.
What are those boxes under the headlights?
Thanks
Was wondering why they were on this vehicle as in NZ use those trim vanes were seen on the M579 fitters vehicle due to the weight of the HIAB, both boxes & trim vane contained foam to counteract the extra weight.
Then noticed signs of belly armour on this vehicle. This is probably the short version belly armour that equipped US vehicles, rather than the full length version the Aussies had.
The standard trim vane was just plyboard.

Good looking figures. I believe the figure that come w/the kit was also sculpted/3D printed by JasonStudios. Likewise I think the kit comes w/both flotation cell swimming vane & the standard plywood one.
I’ve E-mailed w/Jason’s to learn about the accessory set of 30 & 50 cal. ammo cans, metal hot food container & wooden boxes (all shown in the original Armorama of these figures a couple of weeks ago) It’s to be released 10/35, kit # & price unknown. The 4 figures shown will be avail as a set and individually……looking good!!!
It does look like it might be riding a little low. Hard to tell. The A1s ride lower than the A2s by about 1.5" IIRC. It’s one of the ways to tell the difference between the two. The idler is definitely too low.
Sort of wish they had optional new style CVCs, as everything else was in service through the mid 80s, jungle fatigues, M1 helmet, M16s, all that stuff was used until 1983-84, even the flak vests. People could even wear those jungle boots, but no one did (because they fall apart in no time compared to leather). Only thing that dates everything to Vietnam are the CVCs.
Actually Jason Studio have done the DH132 type CVC in 1/16th - Kit no JS-16003 - but they’re designed as an empty stand alone helmet & won’t readily fit on a model figure head. A bit disappointed when I got mine & figured that out.
And yes, I’d like figures wearing those too
Mal
They look nice but I am not looking forward to seeing their prices.
My guess is around 40 USD for each figure. Yikes…
Jason Studio’s figure sets are some of the best deals for 1/16 figures. This set of 4 is on pre-order from Hobby Easy for $112, so $28 per figure. Not much more then some of the 1/35 figures that are released.
If you buy them individually, then yes, they are about $40 each, but that is still a decent price in the 1/16 world, with many figures in the $50-60 range like H3 and Paracel.
The pricing is all relative I suppose. I certainly would not pay that sort of prices for 1/16 figures. 112 USD before postage so with shipping, probably in the 140-150 USD range for 4 figures.
For each figure, after shipping, we’re looking at between 50-60 USD. At that price, I can buy a nice new 1/35 kit from eBay.
I’m probably not the target customer pool either bc I’d simply 3D print some figures in 1/16 if I need to. However, I feel like these resin figure makers are pricing out a lot of modelers. H3, Paracel, Alpine - they are all out of my price range now. As compared to the price of polystyrene kits, they seemed to have increased in price by a lot more. O, well, best of luck to Jason Studio’s business.
