LCM (3) or LCM (6)

Are the LCMs in the photo below, mark 3 or mark 6?

I can’t work out their lengths from the photo because they’re all in the way of each other, but maybe someone else has a clue?

They’re flying Dutch flags, because this is a post-war photo taken here (looking towards the southeast — where the water is in the middle of the photo, the beach is today), but I assume the number 48494 on the one in the middle is a US Army registration number. If anyone knows whether there’s a list of those numbers somewhere, that might help. I looked, but couldn’t find one :frowning:

My money is on LCM(3).
The LCM(6) was a lengthened LCM(3) and the added length was at the horizontal section of the loading area sides, under L2 in the sketch below:

On the LCM(3) the distance L1 was distinctly longer than L2.
On the LCM(6) the two distances were more equal.

The LCM (6) was an LCM (3) extended by 6 feet (1.8 m) amidships. (from Wikipedia)

Thanks, but I know all of that — it’s why I mentioned I can’t work out the lengths from the photo  I agree it’s probably an LCM (3), but I would like to know for sure, because measuring even reasonably accurately in a photo like this is very difficult, and thus, likely to be off.

Measuring actual distances is very difficult,
comparing proportions is somewhat easier.
