Littlebird at SOF week, Tampa,

I cannot sell the most current ones as I’m farming them out for possible use. However, send me your email address if you’re interested in the Little Bird walk around from 2008. Free for you.
And apologies, I somehow glossed over your post when you first posted it.

Last I was tracking, they were up to the H-6M model. What is different with the R model, besides antennas and sensors?

@HeavyArty This describes the A/MH-6R model.

The basic airframe sounds unchanged.

From a link in the above article…

Following the end of FARA, “that R is not a Romeo,” said Steven Smith, SOCOM’s rotary wing program executive officer, at the SOF Week conference here in Tampa on Tuesday. “I’m calling it Little Bird ‘resurrection.’ It’s the future for Little Bird.”

Details about what new capabilities and features that might come with the R upgrade package have been limited. The 160th’s Little Birds have already been steadily upgraded since the 1980s, with the current Block III AH/MH-6M MELB versions having six-blade rotors and expanded takeoff weights compared to their predecessors. The Block IIIs also have newly-machined zero-lifed reinforced airframes. In addition, the AH-6/MH-6s have been receiving additional incremental upgrades including new radios, fuel tanks, and seats, in recent years.

And fairings at the leading edge of the canopy, plus the fitting of an mg to the benches. Happy days

Yup, new plank gunmount.

Looks like you could use one of the below Live-Resin sets for the mount, with maybe an updated weapon.

In the world of close enough that’ll do. For now at least.

https://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/articles/2023/4/18/special-ops-ammo-spreads-to-other--services

“One of the earliest special ops applications involved its use on Special Operations Command’s AH-6 “Little Bird” helicopters. Joe Gibbons, manager of government programs for Nammo MAC LLC, said that about six years ago the company’s .50 caliber polymer ammunition design eliminated the weight tradeoff between fuel and ammunition, allowing the helicopter the ability to carry more fuel at full ammunition loads and spend longer time on station.” --National Defense Magazine

I just finished my Gothic Serpent spec AH-6J and love the look of the latest spec SOAR birds. Would love to build one if there was a good conversion kit available.
