Looking for good M1A2 figures

Hi Folks,

I’m starting the RFM M1A2 TUSK II and would like to get 1/35 figures. For driver and turret.

I’ve looked everywhere online. Can anyone give advice?

I’m would also like to get WWII German tank crew driver and turret figures for my Takom kits.

Preferably ones that are available to a US mailing address.

It seams like tank driver figures are rare?

Thanks for any insight.

This set is right for modernish tankers in a M1A2 TUSK II tank.

Can’t help w/the German figures as I don’t build that era.

You may have to modify a wheeled vehicle driver to put in the drivers seat in a tank, or there are some half figures for tank driver positions out there. Google 1:35 scale German tank crew figures. There are tons of resin and plastic figures out there.

As for US based companies, try Sprue Brothers, US Cavlary off the top of my head. BNA Model World is out of Australia but has a nice range at decent prices and shipping rates.

Not sure what your budget is but these might work

Also Djiti makes a two figure set with a driver for an M1

The Dragon US Tank crew is not really “modern”. They are good for '80s through ODS ('90-'91) up until about 2005 when the uniform changed to the new ACU pattern.

The MiniArt ones I showed above are in the ACU/OCP pattern with newer IOTV vest which would be appropriate for the timeframe of an M1A2 TUSK II tank.

Also, the Djiti set would work for non-combat setting as they are in ACU/OCP uniforms but have no body armor on.

Yes good point Gino. I did not point out time frame differences.

First off, welcome George. In addition to the advice above, Legend makes both an AFV driver and a Stryker driver in resin. I don’t worry about uniform details on these driver figures as they’re not usually visible, and with resin it’s easy to carve off and add new detail as you see fit.

As for German, you can’t swing the digital version of a dead cat without hitting at least three sets…

Edit: If anyone has that Dragon driver figure and doesn’t find it to his liking, I’ll trade in your favor for it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the answers. I have been here in past years. Started building AFV again out of my stash.

I’ve been off the forums for a while.

I generally don’t mind spending money on good figures. I saw the Legend 4 man set, which I will use when I build the RFM 1240. I think it should work.

There are some incredible resin & 3d figures being made now,

It’s just a matter of finding the fit for your model

I’ve been building since the late 70’s. Some of these RFM and Takom kits are unreal. I hope my eyes hold up!

I hate the tracks though!

Best,

George
