I want both of these kits.
You know, they will have most of the parts for a Firefly an M4A3 (76)w and a bunch of other shermans.
On a plus side their prices are very reasonable compared to Tamiya and Trumpeter.
I just wish someone would come out with a set of Pioneer tools with their tie down straps, I don’t build the figures so these are useless to me.

Aftermarket will catch up in a bit with those details.

Ooh! Both the Wolverine and the Achilles look very nice.

I saw them on display in his shop this past Saturday, along with the Sdkfz.251/1 D. They are beautifully detailed large kits. If 1/16 is your thing, go for it!

I barely have enough space for my 1/35 stuff. maybe I will build one and kep it as just one 1/16.

Same here. When I was in the shop, one of the guys from our AMPS who works with Andy guided me over to those beauties. With my already existing stash and completed builds, I have zero room for these things. As much as I wish I did have such room… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I am mostly impressed by the parts layout and choices made for these two releases.

If I am not mistaken, one can get four kits and build four different variants. Two OOB and by changing turrets and some other details you can get a M10 with duckbill counterweights and an Achilles MkI.

Also it looks as if the transmission covers are different, one rounded type and one sharp nose.

Someday i have to make the trek from Tucson to Andy’s HQ. The only hobby game in town is the Hobby Place at Ace Hardware in Tucson. I live in Sahuarita, so I am trying my best to keep my hobby dollars in AZ.

Sounds like slim choices for a shop there in Tucson. At least we have several shops here in the Phoenix area, that I support as best I can. Use 'em or lose 'em. I’ll pay a little more for the pleasure of having a shop where I can oogle and fondle models… :smirk:

The shop i go to is a true modeling heaven. Lots of kits, all the major brands present. They also have RC cars, Gundams, tons of model trains, diorama stuff etc…

The guys even buy vintage kits, so there’s plenty to choose from. The last handful of kits i’ve bought have ben vintage Tamiya and Dragon kits, like the old LVTP-7 and a BRDM-2 that were just good for a Grenada Invasion dio.

But like i said before; I have so many unbuilt kits in my stash that I’m currently only going there to buy paints and diorama stuff.

I like that idea. The Hobbyboss kits have more detail if that is important to you for both those vehicles.

The space to display the finished kit is smaller than the box to store. If you make it the kit in the workbench you can do it. :smiling_imp:

Oh I know it… I’m more concerned about the finished display space than the workbench space.

Same issue for me, there are precisely two kits I would grab in heartbeat if they came out in 1/16th, a Elefant/Ferdinand and a Firefly. Otherwise I find them nice to ogle at but can’t justify the space and cost

For me it would be any Sherman, preferably an Easy Eight or a Panzer IV. If they ever build a modern vehicle, like an M1151 ECV Humvee, I will buy it. The one that peaks my interest at the moment is the Takom 1/16 Willy’s MB, which has already been discussed here.

That is a nice kit. I hope to start mine late this year/early next and built as a Holden Jeep.

From what I have seen DEF is even coming out with a detailed wheel set for the Jeep.

Take a look at T-rex, they don’t have just tracks. There are many other things to get, also in 1/16

Another option is SOL, they have two wheel sets with and without chains. Sold at Andy’s in the US, at least that is where I got mine.
