So, I’ve got the Hobbyboss M1070 HET with the trailer, and there’s a fair amount of brake hoses. But there’s no tubing in the box, just wire. Now, I can pull the wire out of a short length of insulation and get a tube - but not the lengths required here. Am I missing something? How do I produce the tube ends sans wire to stick onto all those blinkin’ fittings?
I used an appropriate gauge of solder to replicate the air lines for the brake system on the trailer. I used a short length of plastic tube to serve as both a mount to the suspension arm and a receptacle for the solder. This saved a lot of headaches for me.
Long shot:
Could you try pushing the insulation back a bit, cut of the exposed wire
and then let the insulation creep back to create a short bit of “tube” just at the ends?
I used to build a lot of motorcyles. Still do occasionally. I actually do the opposite - put a short piece of wire in the hose, then drill out a small hole to accept it. Much more secure fit usually than trying to keep the hose on the plastic pins.
That is indeed the best solution.
In this case the OP doesn’t have a hose, he has a wire (hose with wire all the way)
Sorry for being a stupid schmuck and not thinking outside the box.
Read what 18bravo writes above and consider drilling a hole for the
wire where the peg for the hose is located.
Peel off the insulation a short bit to get some wire to stick in the
newly drilled hole. Stick it in and glue with CA.
The problem on this model is that the styrene parts that the tube is supposed to go onto is very small and also in some cases badly placed for drilling. I think I’m going to go with adding small bits of styrene tube with the wire stuck into the other end, like spark plug boots. I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond!
In used Aber R-24 Pneumatic joints, nipples, and valves.
The tubing connects perfectly onto the nipples on the brakes.
That tube is exactly what I need, but my Google Fu is weak - I try searching variants on rubber tube tubing pneumatic and such but haven’t found hollow tube that small. What have folks searched to find tube just like that?
I tried googling too …
I think I remember some Trumpeter advertising leaflet (included in all their kit boxes)
where they advertised vinyl tubing but my Google Fu failed me …
Apparently, as late as nine days ago, Accurate Armour was still selling off stock.

Rubber chord. A bit thick for your purposes though.
