M113 Lynx finished

Finished the Lynx at last.
Not sure if it’s just me being a bit out of practice, but various things went wrong… the wheels all started leaning in for some reason, needing straightening up with the help of a hair dryer. I broke the end of the M2 barrel, irreparable, but replaced with a nice metal one, like the M1919 barrel, from Master-Model.pl.

As the tracks and wheels are so weak I’ve attached it to the base with the cocktail stick I used to hold it while painting. I thought gluing that into a hole drilled through the base sounded so easy… :face_exhaling: but apparently not.

I used the Star Decals M113 in the Balkans sheet for the tiny Canadian flags and tiny numbers. Quality was lower than I expected with them being quite thick and the flags off register. Black maple leaf was a cut-out stencil.

Anyway, I’m fairly happy with it, I think a big improvement over the original resin kit which had no gun mounts to speak of, even if the shape of the whole thing is not quite right.

Great to see and well done. It’s not often that Foxtrot gets any glory.

I always loved the Lynx. A little “cozy” but great fun to fly around in.

Cheers,
Colin

Beautiful paint job and in small scale, exquisite detailing! An exceptional model!

Hey what scale is this kit? And what brand?

It’s 1:72. Manufacturer is not named.

Very sweet!

I believe this is the 1/72 Armada Hobby M113 Lynx that @FirstCircle posted about in February. Very nice braille scale work.

I had the same experience Matthew with Star Decals on an M706, the color was very subdued or faded as well, really disappointed.
The Lynx looks smashing!

Nice work!

Note to self: Must decide on when to build my 1:35 version (the NL one since you ask(!)
