M1151 UAF SSO Kursk

Finished up my Academy M1151. Done up as one in service with the Ukrainian Special Forces during the Kursk Incursion. I added Def Model wheels and weapons/accessories from the ICM set & a Magic Factory NLAW. The Helmet had arc rail mounts scratch built for the peltor comtacs. 3D printed .50cal cases where used and magazines added from ETA models.

Your M1151 looks very badass with his dirt and scratches, nice work.

A very successful interpretation. Tired of life on the front line. Replacing the wheels with DEF ones has definitely improved the appearance. (A small note – you didn’t paint the spare wheel rim on the inside.) :upside_down_face:

That is a real eye catching piece Alex. Both color and weathering are superbly well done and the various small details added to the interior add a nice little touch to the whole thing.

Lovely weathering on the finish and good solid build … some nice reading material for the late night stags lol

Thank you Makinen, I have always enjoyed your HMMWV builds.
I left the insides of all the wheels in CARC tan like the window frames to show where the ukranians didn’t/wouldn’t have bothered to over paint. I hoped it would tie in with the CARC tan base showing through the weathering.

Remember that the M1151 armour consists of several layers – looking from the outside of your vehicle, green/sand/green. Regardless of this, the wheels have black rims.

I had intended to do more severe chipping on the interior, almost back to a full CARC with flecks of green. I left the top green coat to long and wasn’t able to chip to the level I wanted. Oh well there is always next time!

I wouldn’t go too crazy with the spalling and be careful. These aren’t WWII tanks painted with poor paint and fighting in city ruins, forests, etc. BTW- very good job
