The M29 Weasel was built with the FC Model Trend 3D printed track set. Many of the TAKOM kit suspension parts were still needed for the build.
The exterior was painted with AK Interactive Real Colors Orange. The Star Decals “M29C Weasel French Polar Expedition” set replaced the TASKOM set. The decals were applied over a gloss base, set with Micro Set, and sealed with a gloss top coat.
This was followed by a pin wash using Tamiya’s Dark Brown Panel Line Accent.
The rooftop stowage was cobbled together and carved to fit the space. Painted with acrylics, oils, and enamel products.
The ice crevasse base was made from foamboard carved and shaped with Flex Paste (Woodland Scenics) to portray built up ice.
Airbrushed with multiple layers of light transparent blue acrylics adding darker shades in layers to portray depth. The crevasse walls were covered with Triple Thick Brilliant Brush On Gloss Glaze (Deco Art) for an icy appearance.
The upper portion of the crevasse and the surface are coated with Flex Paste (Woodland Scenics) topped with a thin layer of white Decorator Sand (from Darice) to depict snow and ice.

The model is really well done and the composition with the crevasse is great.

That looks great.
I have that version and tracks, just started the M29C. Hope mine turns out half as well as yours.

What a beautiful dio- such sharp color contrasts with the white and orange- just instantly grabs attention. First time I’ve seen this vehicle in the explorer colors and it looks awesome! You’ve made a memorable dio with that crevasse and the figure just finishes it all off nicely, plus gives a nice idea of scale to both vehicle and terrain.

Nice rendition of the ice
Perhaps a bit more light blue in the crevasse

Thanks Thierry90.
Like Olive Drab paint, ice shelves apparently come in many shades. Lol
I used this photo as my guide. I skipped the scattered surface dirt (I have no idea what that is or how it could be scattered on top of deep ice).

Very nice diorama of an unusual subject. Well done.
I have to say that I kept reading the title as “Polar Express”, so I was a little surprised when there wasn’t a train.

That photo appears to be a glacier, they pick up a fair amount of dirt/rock as they move.
