The M32 conversion sets were among some of the oldest designs I did, they started off and Click2detail and then Shapeways.
When I designed them back in 2012, there was still a lot of information lacking on some of the variants. Thanks to the Sherman Minutia page they have done some good research on the M32 and if you want to tackle one of my conversion sets I recommend you visit that page!
I have further revised the files to include a couple of more parts from some of the research featured on the Sherman Minutia page.
I printed out some parts with my Saturn 2 resin printer. I used 0.035 mm layers and it captured some of the casting marks I incorporated into some of the revised parts.
Years ago I visited an M32B3 on display in Circleville, OH and took extensive measurements and photographs to create these parts. The conversion set was sold on Click2detail and then Shapeways but the detail that Shapeways could print could not replicate such fine detail as casting numbers.
With these new printers (mine is an 8K) the detail possibilities are unbelievable!
I have not yet been able to create weld bead detail to my liking but it should not be too hard to replicate it using a hobby blade before you harden the resin.
I’ll further refine it and clean it up once it’s on the model.
The M32A1B1 Boom Feet were taller than the M32B1 to help clear the wider sprocket, and fenders of the HVSS suspension.
Here is a better picture of the spare wheel bracket, I used a focus stacker program to increase the depth of field.
