M35 gun truck 1/35

Hello, and happy new year.

Second vehicle from Vietnam, the AFV CLUB M35A1. The assembly presented some fitting issues, and the part placement instructions were unclear. I chose not to use the kit’s markings, as they’re too common. The biggest challenge remains the quad gun; the 12.7mm cannons are not very good. It’s better to use the Dynamo or Dragon cannons.

Never heard of anything wrong with AFV CLUB’s .50’s but beautiful build there..

Looks great overall. The bigger issue with the quad .50s is the mount. They were not just welded to the bed as AFV Club depicts them. They were actually still on the M55 trailer which was mounted in the bed with bolt plates to hold it in place. The wheels were removed and stored in the bed as well.

Some examples.

Also, AFV Club’s gun mount is a WWII version. Dynamo provides the updated parts (new engine, power distribution box, new gun mounts, etc., etc.) for a proper Vietnam version.

Any chance they did that with the M548 Gun Truck as well?

Yes, it was at least tested on one in Vietnam.

AFV Club did a kit of it as well.

Our own @Pawel is building one as well.

I have been looking for that particular kit,but it seems to be OOP, hard to find; so, I am planning to get two M35 gun trucks and use the Quad for the M548

I would actually recommend the Dynamo M55 Quad model. It already has the M55 trailer base and is a Vietnam version of the quad system.

I used it on my M54 quad guntruck “Easy Rider” and it came out pretty nicely.
