Greetings.
This is my latest effort. (Kind of a WIP. I’m not exactly sure if I will put this in a diorama or not, but much more detailing with equipment will come later) It is the Dragon M48A1 (Magach 1 kit). Painted with MIG acrylics (Olive Drab Shadow). Decals are from the spares box. It’s a pretty basic build with minimal weathering like dry brushing, some chipping and Vallejo pigments for dust. The main gun barrel, mantlet cover and drive sprockets are from the DEF Model after-market kit. The fuel rack is designed and printed by my good friend, Fabnevarez. The first couple pics are without the shield, so you can see the hose detail.
Very nice!
What a cracking model; love it. The extra fuel drums make such a difference.
Very nice. Is the set available to buy or buy/download the stl file?
Awesome work! The paint job on the tank and fuel rack is amazing! ![]()
Absolutely fantastic!
I am, and many others I am sure, waiting for a chance to buy this if your friend makes it available!
That looks really nice.
Cheers,
Ralph
Fantastic work. Love seeing something different too. ![]()
That is so awesome. My Dad drove those tanks and I have pictures of those fuel tanks on the back of his tank. HE HATED THEM! LMBO! I asked him about them once and that was about all I could get him to say about them. If I remember correctly he did say something about leakage and too much maintenance and up keep. I am currently reworking a model of this tank that I built several years ago, with his numbers and art work. I hope in turns out better this time. Thanks for the memories!!

Welcome to the forum. Pics!
Great pics ![]()
Why are the front fenders cut back?
Hard turns can cause track to rise up. That and build up of mud and debris will damage them.
Great Pics. New Photos of the external fuel racks are always appreciated!
Looks like 8/68 Armor to me on the fender. 8/68 Armor was part of 6th Armored Division and then was allocated to the Army Reserve’s 83rd Infantry Division until it was inactivated 31 December 1965.
Wow! I always thought it was the (8th ID mechanized) 68 armored. Any more of this history would be greatly appreciated. His paperwork, and many others, was part of a fire that burned most of the records of that time of service. Thanks!
