M49 fuel tanker detail question

Hi all,
Building AFV Club’s M49A2C fuel tanker, I stumbled across this photo in Vodnik’s walkaround:

CRW_1695_RJ](https://vodnik.net/references/m49a2c_vis_files/vlb_images1/crw_1695_rj.jpg)

That ring at the upper left obviously is supposed to pull a cable that runs into the chassis frame - and then? As I’ve found it in pictures of other M49’s, too, it apparently isn’t a feature of only this one truck, but I can’t find any reference to it in the TM on the M35 family. Does anyone else have better eyes or other information?
Peter

You can stop searching - I found it myself: It’s the Remote Control Handle, and it “is pulled forward in an emergency to trip operating levers and return them to closed position”, TM 9-2320-361-10, p. 2-11.
Thanks for looking anyway!
