M578 (Italeri, Perfect Scale Modellbau)

Had a problem with the turret.
The front plate did not fit even with the sides. Had to sand off some to make it fit…

Some small update

The front plate of the turret was a bit tricky to install that all aligned well.

Dry fitted the boom and the hydraulic zylinders. Looks ok…

Some update

Managed to get the interior done.
Next up is some cables and hydraulic lines before I start paintig.

I have seen a M578 pictured in Vietnam with an .50 shield for the commander and a M60 shield for the operator. Thats how i will built mine.
Do you guys maybe have some other pics of such a equipt M578?
That would be cool
Seems like a rare configuration…
Cheers

This is a picture with cal 50 and M60 shield

And this is my try

Nice idea, but in your place I’d consider ditching those sheilds and making them from .010 styrene. They’re a little rough looking, and far too thick.

Working on the boom…
All parts are dry fitted in place. Not bad

Found a possible position for the first crewman, too …

Hello!
Lookin’ good! As for that guy - I’d look for some other place. In the shade and not so “in your face” should the sarge spot him…
Good luck with your build and have a nice day

let me help out with more pics.

Those pics ought to help you out quite a bit. I have something some folks may find useful that is not offered elsewhere - partially collapsed blivets. No two are the same and they look quite convincing.

Thank you for those pics.

I finished the hull today exept the taillights.
They didnt come with the kit so i will look through my spare box.

Close to start paintig now.

Also the second crew member is in position

This is how i plan my diorama to look like

Thanks for watching.
And as always comments are very welcome
